Šibenik

Larger town only 20 km away from our apartment.

First time mentioned in the 1066. in the grant of the King Petar Kresimir IV it is one of the oldest towns in Croatia. 

Cathedral of Saint Jacob is the most notable building of 15th and 16th century and it is on the UNESCO list of world heretage. 

The Fort of Saint Nicholas from 16th century is also on  hte UNESCO world heretage list.

Historical water wells are near the church of Sain Jacob. They were made in 1446 because of frequent perods of drought and army sieges.

There is also the Main Town Hall, Aqaduct of Saint Anthony, Aquarium, The Fort of Saint Michael, numerous museums and other sights. 

Posibility of organized daily filedtrips to numeorus nearby destinations. 

There are offcourse pictouresqe streets to explore, restaurants to visit and much more.

If need be, a hospital and pharmacies are also near by.
